Tradition as the Root: The Rural Aesthetics of Jinshan Farmers' Paintings

Jinshan Farmers' Painting was born in the 1970s and rooted in the soil of the water towns in Jiangnan. It is known for its bold composition, bright colors, and simple life atmosphere. Inspired by folk arts such as embroidery, Paper Cuttings, and kitchen murals, farmers' painters use their paintbrushes to record farming and festival customs in the four seasons, turning the tumbling autumn harvest, the snow covered winter scenery, the red and green spring scenery, and the cool and frolicking summer into vibrant paintings.
